The fae never showed themselves to the humans, they were harsh and selfish and cruel creatures, even one fae being exposed could destroy their peace and lead to the destruction of their kind. They preferred to hide away, where it was safe,some hid in forests or on islands, others preferred to stay hidden deep in the jungle, surrounded by the fierce animals who they had protected as young and who now protected them from any peering eyes. But one day the fae found a small baby by a river bank, with no sign of a parent in sight, they took pity on the child. It was too young to have been corrupted by the greed of man, as the child grew it learnt the way of the fae, finding their own way to keep up with them as they flew through the trees. But soon enough the child had to join humanity, the Queen of the fae who had raised her had a small hut created not too far from the boarders of the fae kingdom. The child, grateful for all the fae had given her, swore to protect them and all they stood for. One day a couple of hunters had wandered past the fae boarder as a young fae was delivering the Moonlight crystal, she was clumsy and smacked into a tree, dropping the crystal to the ground where the hunters quickly found it and ran off to find out it's true worth. The fae were in a panic, the harvest moon festival was a mere week away and they needed the crystal back...there was only one thing to do.
The Queen herself flew to the young woman's hut, leaving the boarder of the fae kingdom for the first time, but this was an emergency. The moment she arrived to the hut the young woman knew something was wrong, no fae were allowed to leave the boarder's of the kingdom and to see the Queen herself break that law...something wasn't right. The Queen quickly explained what had happened and as the young woman listened to the description of the two hunter's her eyes shot open. She knew who they were and she knew they were dangerous. She reached for her gun and as the light shon against it she stared into her reflection "I'll bring back the crystal your highness" she uttered "And no one can stop me." The Queen merely nodded and sped back towards the boarder, afraid to be out much longer. The young woman packed her bag and set off in her boat towards the nearest town. No one would ever hurt the fae, not as long as she was alive.
